Sorry my host server is in the middle of some sort of transfer and I don't have a web page at the moment.

I am excited to have picked up my prints from my trip to NYC.

Here are my favorites...

I used a HOLGA camera with 400 speed 120 film. (This is Medium Format)
By the way - this is a clue to why my username is "cameras4toys"... this is what is the result of "Toy Camera Photography" a niche hobby.

I really like this stipes idea for my bathroom, do you think I can get away with it? Maybe in different colors??

Fun times atPurlygirls tonight...

A note to Jenna: Buttons are better than beads :p
I made it to the top of Mt. Si Saturday. I have been meaning to do this hike for years! About time! Here's what it looks like from the top if you can't make it up yourself.

Fuuzy feet before..

Fuzzy feet after...

I finished up the fuzzy feet - Jen has them ready to felt in her washing machine.
Hope they turn out!!

Here is the London Beanie I made... I am really happy with the results.

Going to hike Mt. Si tomorrow FINALLY!! I am sure I'll incredibly sore next week. That's OK though!

Purlygirls finished a lot of things Monday night. I was one of the lucky ones... I am done with my Lo-Tech Sweater and I must say it is very comfy.

I also finished the "London Beenie" from the same yarn for a friend. It is Dusky Blue with 2 darker blue stripes. Very snowboarder colored. Bon!

Last night I started on fuzzy feet from Knitty at the Eastside Stitchers Group. Maybe someone will get lucky for X-mas!! We'll see how they felt. It took me about 4 hours to do one foot.
Very speedy!
It was funny - at Starbucks we were all sitting around knitting and this guy (in a MS bicycle jersey) came by and did a double take then on his way out (of course), he HAD to ask why one of us was wearing a "Google" t-shirt AND knitting. He didn't see the connection. Well, if you are reading my knitting blog you get the connection! We get our knitting patterns and info on the web! Anyhow, she got the t-shirt from a MIT recruiting event, but still! He was totally perplexed.

Yesterday I picked up my resale certificate for my new condo and everything is working out great. I've been playing around with the IKEA kitchen planner. It would be so great to be able to install a new kitchen in January. Ah - daydreaming is fun.

Here is Pumpkin all done

I am still working on the Lo-Tech Sweater.

I also have this really cute photo of Stella I have to share.

Here is a sneak peak at my condo

My close date should be October 8th. The hard part is figuring out what colors to repaint it with!

I am excited to have found a condo to purchase this weekend! I put an offer on paper today at lunch. It should be an easy move - accross my parking lot! A big thanks to my friend Jen for looking with me and my agent, that gave me the assurance to pick the right one. It was pretty easy though. I have a small price range and there are very few in good condition available. This one was obviously the best I could get for my dollar.

I'm crossing my fingers to be able to start to move in on the 9th of October. BEFORE I leave for my second portion of the Mobile Expo trip.

I was at Angela's last night and almost finished my "Pumkin" baby sweater. Only 4 or 5 more rows!

Well well well... I AM HOME!

I am closing in on the end of my Lo-Tech Sweater - I am on the front panels.

I know I need photos, otherwise this is boring for my visitors ;)

Finishing my tour of the south was a relief. I've had enough of Bill, my co-worker for a while. I did get to have some EXCELLENT food. If anybody ever goes to Charleston, SC, you MUST eat dinner at Magnolia. Is was the best meal I've had in months. I think I also ate collard greens at their best. I am tempted to make them at home, I enjoy the texture.

I guess I should start a shopping list to re-stock my refrigerator. Hmmm, it's been a while since I've had a home cooked meal! I just ate, so it's hard to imagine food, I am at my most creative for food planning when I'm starving, and luckily that doesn't mean I am temped to buy junk food. I love visiting Epicurious.com.

I have stayed in many hotels over this trip, I prefer Hampton Inn, from where we've stayed. We started out cheapo at some Econolodges and they were nasty. No more of that silly buisness.

I am excited to wear my new Knit NY t-shirt this week. I've been saving it so it's clean when I get home.

I also love the TUMI laptop bag I borrowed from Ryan, I admit I undserstand why someone would pay $250 for this "name brand." I'll have to return it of course. I won't have a laptop for work all the time.

Last night was the only night I had a room service dinner, It was fun. I sat on my big bed and watched "The Apprentice" on NBC.

It's rainy here in South Carolina, luckily I got a change to walk on the beach in the Atlantic Ocean this morning, even though it was raining, it was very warm. We are near the Florida Hurricane, but not close enough to have a problem. The rain is light. It's so wierd for the air to be so warm in the rain, I don't mind getting wet at all.

Last night we had dinner at "Magaritaville" in Myrtle Beach and at "House of Blues" for lunch today. I bought a body board last night to swim in the ocean with, but awoke to rain and exchanged it for souvinier gifts this morning.

I've gotten through more pieces of my Lo-Tech Sweater.
1/2 the back
1 sleeve
2 pockets
started the hood

I keep thinking this is the perfect pattern if I had a knitting machine, but I am the machine, and that's how it is with stockinette sweaters.

It's been another long week.
To see photos of our stops, visit the Mobile Expo site.

I finished hiding the ends in the pipi-long stocking socks but my stitches are looser than they should be and the 2nd sock doesn't fit very well. I think I might pull out the last 2 stripes and re-knit it. I couldn't really tell until I tried them on today.

I started the Lo-Tech Sweat with Patons Classic Wool Merino.

I am really looking forward to returning to Bellevue where I seem to have a lot more free time and privacy.

Today I am spending the next 24 hours in the Comfort Inn- Richmond, VA. I am content not leaving, I need to chill out, knit and watch cable TV. AND catch up on work.
Tomorrow we are going to Myrtle Beach, SC. I am excited to be near water. I don't care if it rains. It will still be warm.

I also found out my Italian friend Silvia is coming to visit me and my friend Amy in November. I am excited to play tour guide. If everything works out, I may be moved into a condo of my own by the time she arrives. That will be tricky though, because I am doing this travel job again from Oct 18 - Nov 2. She may arrive on the 4th of November. I am so flattered that she wants to travel all the way from Milan to visit us in Seattle!

Thanks to Jessica for this link! NOw maybe I can finish the baby sweater, if I can put my Lo-Tech Sweat down....

I finished the Pipi Knee Stockings - I think they are a little loose - but they're homemade. My next pair of socks will be knit on size 2 instead of 3 needles.

I've been so busy with work, I've had little time to myself. We got to the hotel tonight at 10:30 PM - I'm afraid tomorrow it will be more like midnight.
I'm 3 miles from the boardwalk at Atlantic City, but won't see it. Oh well!

My big excitement yesterday was getting to visit Smiley's Yarn Store in Queens, NY.
I sort of expected the store to be full of acrylic and it was. I did find some wool that I could buy and that was good enough. Now I know what's behind the website I've ordered from so many times, and hopefully not too many more times in the future.

This weekend we'll be in Richmond, VA and Mertyl Beach, SC. I am feeling drawn to the beach, AWAY from interstate highways. I haven't been driving, Bill still thinks he's going to drive the entire trip. That works for me :)
