Minus 1 year anniversary!
My dad, the wedding photographer took more engagement photos for us on our favorite vehicle, Impulsive, the sailboat.

We are getting ready for our big sailing vacation, we are installing a satelite on the boat this week, so for any updates on vacation, please visit our sailing blog if you want to keep up. We'll try not to make it too boring for you, there won't be any photos for sure. We won't have internet access, it will be a sort of primitive e-mail system.

I got started on a tablecloth for the dining room table, but I haven't gotten around to getting the border cut out. Maybe I'll do that now. Horray for summer hours, we get to leave work early every Friday.

Here is the free pattern I've written up for the Soy Silk Shrug.

Obviously I've been busy since no posts lately!

We had productive 4th of July with housework and boat work and firework viewing from Lake Union. Good thing we took our Motorcycles to Seattle, we were able to weave through traffic to get out of town sooner.

I tried on wedding gowns at Demetrio's on Thursday and was annoyed at their pricing. Given that they were still manufactured in China. I did check Nordstroms once and found a dress I liked there, the main problem was that it seemed like it had been a little damaged from the in and out of the dressing room. I'll head back there for their next season of formal wear though. Too bad they didn't have it on their website. I think I am leaning towards a sheat style dress rather than the hot poofy skirt most brides wear. I think keeping cool in July will be preferable.

This past weekend we took a big trip to Whidbey Island on our motorcycles too! We attended a friend's gorgeous wedding at the Whidbey Institute, camped out on the grounds and then returned home via a very scenic route mapped out for us. We rode almost 100 miles on Sunday, that's the max we can take I think, it's pretty tiring, mainly on the back with the wind resistance.

Our garden is growing well, we have way more lettuce and carrots than we can eat. We've installed outdoor lighting along the side of the house where the garbage cans are and down the back steps. It looks great!

Vacation is coming up, 1.5 more weeks. We'll be sailing up the west coast of Vancouver Island for my biggest/most remote voyage yet.

Ah, relief. Our wedding date has been nailed down.

I'm going to try on dresses on Thursday with my friend Amy. We'll see what I think I'd like to wear. My preference would be to borrow a dress, but I might find something under $300 that is good quality. It's nice to have a lot of time to browse.

I ordered some of these lanterns to see if they could work for the end of the night on the beach.

I finally snapped a photo of my soy silk shrug. Now if I would just wear it, I might get a action photo.
Yesterday afternoon we had went to Jesper's co-worker's house for a late lunch, early supper. They made so many amazing foods for us and I am so inspired. I learned about how to tell how well the meat is done with this technique.

We also had chimichurri on the meat which was so tasty.

They also showed us how to make homemade limoncello and gave us some of theirs to take home. I am going to have to start cooking with fresh lemons now for sure.

Last night I started a baby quilt, just 5x5" squares. I'm using the blues and oranges form the Moda Uptown quilt fabric I bought. This morning I sewed all the squares together. I just need to go find a matching border print and a flannel backing. The baby isn't due until September, so there isn't any rush.
