I saw a link on my old manager's blog to a site where you can get paper box and card templates to cut out. I am going to try the Take-Out box. If it's fun and easy, maybe we can make them for wedding favors.

Follow-up...
I made the box, but have no tools that would make the creases for the box folds, so this is definitly not worth making more than one of. It was entertaining to try though!

Knitting projects this week:

"Embelish Knit" - making I-chord from yarn, not the yarn I want, but I have I-chord to crank out.

Working on second mitten.

Cast-on for the unoriginal hat.

Need to block my Tangled yoke sweater, maybe the blocking won't be as dissapointing as it is now, the sweater is threatening not to work for me.

We're back from the coast!

We had a fun time borrowing my parent's VW Eurovan for camping. We headed out Friday morning after Thanksgiving. We tried to stay at Pacific Beach State Park, but it was open Razor clam season and the park was full! Luckily we saw several small RV parks aong the way and were able to stay somehere else. It was pretty cool to see the people cleaning their clams and we got to try it out as well. If you need to know how to clean a Razor clam, you know who to talk to. We didn't eat any, but will take their word that they are good to eat. Not for me though.

The weather was pretty good, no rain until the I-5 drive home luckily.

We stayed at the Lake Quinault Lodge and enjoyed the rain forest hikes and hugged the World's Largest Sitka Spruce tree as well.

Our last night was spent at Cape Disappointment State Park near Ilwaco, WA and we were right next to the beach. We burned a big campfire for several hours and got nice a stinky just in time to head home and shower and sleep again in our comfy bed.

We finally went sailing this weekend. It's been a few months since we last sailed. It really was time! We ended up heading out after lunch and sailed to Port Madison. I made Chicken Stroganoff and we went into relaxation mode. The heater kept us perfectly warm and it was so great.

This was the first time I made Chicken Stroganoff, it was Jesper's suggestion, I'm not sure he's had it before either, but it worked! I just took my beef stroganoff recipe and substituted chicken and white wine instead of beef and red wine.

Also, it's coming to Turkey time, I wanted to share my recipe for Brined Turkey. Get it started Wednesday night!

What's the deal?

I ran a load of laundry tonight and when it started draining... the water flowed back out and onto the floor! Is the outbound pipe clogged??

At least I am mopping up dirty laundry soap water instead of cat piss or sewage. See! I'm always looking on the bright side.
This weekend we installed a window on our house, it was pretty straight forward... until we realized that we installed it BACKWARDS! I noticed first and decided not to say anything because I didn't think you could tell or that it mattered. But, then Jesper noticed. Ripped out all the trim that had been so nicely seal with caulk...

Well, it's in the right way now. We were close to having an argument about it, but I ran to the grocery store and Jesper ripped off the trim and went ahead with the switcheroo. I guess worse things could have happened, like, it could have been really crooked or we could have dropped it and broken it. So I'll just look on the bright side.

Sunday night we saw Warren Miller's Payground (a crazy ski movie, I hadn't seen it before, it was pretty fun. I guess they run a new one every year.

I just found this recipe for a quick carrot bread and am going to bake it tonight. Whee!

I am on the button-band of my Tangled yoke sweater. A few more hours of work + some buttons and I can wear it! I tried it on and the neckline is lower than I expected, but it looks fine.
Has anyone used Blurb to make a book, or a blog book? I am tempted to do it to archive my blog.

I'm finally through the cable on my cardigan and am at the neckback. Horray! It took me 3 weeks to get the body and sleeves up to the cable and then a month to get through the cable. It was not as fun as I had hoped, but at least I made it through! I am looking forward to wearing it soon!
